George is exactly what parents and students look for in a tutor: he’s honest, kind, clear, and at the core of it all he’s an absolutely excellent teacher. One of the very best. My son’s confidence has been boosted enormously from the time he has spent with George; he feels able to communicate more openly about what he finds difficult but equally can recognise what he is capable of in a way that he hasn’t before.

I am a teacher of English and my maths can’t compete with modern GCSE demands. It has been such a relief to be able to entrust my son to George, knowing that he will receive the educational care and attention that I would give him myself, if I was able.

I have always struggled with maths and had no confidence in my ability. I was dreading my GCSE exams, convinced I had no hope of passing. My mum suggested I had a tutor to support me and that’s  when I started working with George.

From the very beginning, he helped me believe in my potential and focused on the areas where I had the most difficulty. His patience and clear explanations made complex topics easy to understand, and I never felt embarrassed to ask questions.

Thanks to George, I went into my exam feeling confident and even looking forward to it. He made me believe that I could achieve a decent grade and I’m confident that I will! I would highly recommend George to anyone who needs help and support with maths - he is amazing.

George has excellent subject knowledge and always considers planning for learning incredibly carefully. He explains concepts with great clarity and uses common misconceptions effectively to help promote students’ learning. The classes I have watched have always been incredibly purposeful and focused on ensuring students understand and apply their learning effectively. As a result his students achieve very well in their GCSEs and in their end of unit tests. 

George maintains fabulous working relationships with both his colleagues and with students. He shows genuine warmth, care, and concern for the students in his care. He approaches work in the maths team with an incredible spirit of collegiality and is always keen to learn from others. He takes his personal and professional development incredibly seriously and as a result his classroom practice and knowledge is extremely strong. We were very sad to lose George from our team as he is a fabulous colleagues and such an asset to the department and to the school as whole.
